Sound Research

A young boy returned home from work, however, the doll he found yesterday between his work place and hume suddenly appears on the table instead of on the shelf as usual. Afterwards, numerous strange things happened

We recorded the door sound for the first part we tried to get the sound of an old sliding door and make it creepy. I made it 2 layers to make it fuller. We recorded the sound of a cup breaking to represent when the doll broke we wanted to make it as clear as possible to represent the material of the doll which is porcelain. Then we recorded the sound of running water to combine with the bathroom scene as well as the sound of water running down the drain. We used soft and thin materials rubbing together to create the sound of the character wiping his feet. We used a soft material but still harder than the material used to wipe his feet to create the friction when the character starts to wake up in bed. In addition to the sounds we recorded we also used background music available online to add to the sound.

One of the successes I had after this task was that I was able to distinguish the sounds of the materials as well as how to choose the right materials to put into each scene. All the sounds except the music and background music were made by me using different objects. But there were also difficulties and challenges that came with it, namely we had trouble exporting the video because we used quite a lot of different devices. But in the end, we overcame it.
